With uPVC window frames it’s easy to go green and stay stylish, without spending a fortune.

What are uPVC window frames?

uPVC window frames are made out of unplasticised polyvinyl chloride and are an alternative to wood and aluminum window frames. uPVC window frames are eco-friendly and energy efficient. Compared to aluminum and wooden window frames, uPVC window frames reduce heat loss by up to 28% in winter. uPVC window frames are highly recyclable and cause hardly any damage to the environment.
Upvc is very versatile material, and can be designed to look like a variety of materials (eg. Wood) uPVC window frames come in all standard sizes and can be customized to fit, these frames can also accommodate any type of glass. uPVC window frames also have a double glaze which reduces noise and increases heat installation.

uPVC window frame user benefits

Easy installation
uPVC window frames can be installed at home without the assistance of a professional.

Maintenance free
uPVC window frames have a smooth finish and are easy to clean and require very little maintenance. Since uPVC window frames are so durable they do not fade or turn yellow after time, this means they require very little after care. If a scratch does, however, occur on the surface it can be removed by polishing the surface with water paper.

Cost effective
uPVC window frames are affordable and as stated before require very little after care which also reduces costs drastically.

uPVC window frame key features

Eco-Friendly
uPVC window frames are highly recyclable and because they have such a long service life they are not disposed of quickly, this means that only about 2,5% of it is found in the waste stream. If these window frames do land up in a landfill, the window frames will not corrode from the water and soil conditions and therefore no harmful chemicals will be released into the ground causing no harm to the environment.

Durable
uPVC window frames  use high quality uPVC and are therefore extremely durable and have an expected service life of up 50 years. Unlike traditional window frames, uPVC window frames wont rot, chip or peel and will always look as good as day one.

Strong
uPVC window frames are capable of withstanding high surface temperatures of up to 82 degrees Celsius. These window frames are also unable to corrode and are not effected in anyway by any atmospheric conditions eg salt rain, acid rain, smog etc.

Waterproof
Instead of absorbing water like most other traditional window frames, uPVC window frames simply repel water and prevent water from entering the building.

Heat insulator
As mentioned before, uPVC window frames reduce heat loss by up to 28%. These window frames are able to do this by reducing the amount of condensation on the surface of the window frame.

Fire resistant
Unlike traditional window frame, uPVC window frames will not continue to burn once the heat source or flame has been removed from the surface of the window frame.

Disadvantages of uPVC window frames

At the moment painting uPVC is very costly, in order to reduce the cost of painting, it is advised that white paint is used
